Team Spirit reach grand final at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade #2

Team Spirit pulled off a 2-1 victory over MOUZ in the upper-bracket final of the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade #2 event on Friday in Serbia.

With the win, Team Spirit advance to the grand final on Sunday. In the lower-bracket quarterfinals on Friday, Eternal Fire topped FURIA Esports 2-1 and paiN Gaming defeated Virtus.pro by the same score.

Eternal Fire and paIN Gaming will face off in the lower-bracket semifinal on Saturday, with the winner of that match advancing to face MOUZ in the lower-bracket final later Saturday.

Twelve teams began play in the $500,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament last week. The top eight in group play moved on to the double-elimination playoffs. All playoff matches are best-of-three until the grand final on Sunday, which will be best-of-five.

The winning team will earn $250,000, while the runner-up will receive $125,000.

On Friday, Team Spirit opened with a 13-9 win on Nuke, but MOUZ rallied for a 16-14 overtime victory on Mirage. In the decisive third game, Team Spirit prevailed 13-11 on Ancient. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets of Russia posted 66 kills and a plus-9 kill-death differential, while countryman Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov totaled 59 kills and a plus-10 K-D differential.

Eternal Fire rolled to a 13-6 win on Vertigo before FURIA Esports bounced back 13-5 on Nuke. Eternal Fire put the match away on Mirage, securing a 13-9 win. Ozgur “woxic” Eker led an all-Turkish squad with 49 kills and a plus-17 K-D differential.

Virtus.pro jumped out to the lead with a 13-10 win on Mirage, but paiN Gaming won the next two, 13-10 on Vertigo and 13-11 on Dust II, to move on to the lower-bracket semifinal. Kaue “kauez” Kaschuk finished with 51 kills and a plus-14 K-D differential for the all-Brazilian paiN.
