The entire world was shaken by the news of the recent Hamas attack on Israel. On October 7, when many Israeli people were observing the religious holiday of Simchat Torah, hundreds of people lost their lives and their loved ones forever. In the aftermath of this horrible event, a foundation called Israel’s Art at Dawn was set up by the people in the Israeli artistic community to provide immediate relief to the affected members of the local art scene. Israel’s Art at Dawn is hosting an online art sale until November 15, intending to raise funds for the artists and art institutions in the southern part of Israel.
Israel’s Art at Dawn to Raise Funds for the Local Art Scene
Israel’s Art at Dawn was set up as an almost immediate response to the horrifying Hamas attack, which caused massive destruction to the art venues and artists located in southern Israel. Led by the artist Michal Geva and Nir Namir, an art consultant at HaMiffal, the foundation aims to provide relief to those affected by the recent attack and restore the local art scene. The foundation has already received overwhelming support from the Israeli art community: art industry professionals, artists, and organizations have joined forces to support this righteous cause on a voluntary basis.
The funds from the ongoing online art sale will go directly to helping artists and art institutions recover from the devastating and damaging event. In addition, Israel’s Art at Dawn hopes to help further develop the local art scene. As of now, the emergency relief fund is planning to aid around 90 artists and five art institutions.
The selection of Israel’s Art at Dawn’s online art sale is a testament to the richness and diversity of the Israeli art scene. From traditional to 3-D art, you will find pieces in various mediums and price ranges.
The online art sale takes place on the foundation’s official website through November 15, 2023. Both local and international public are welcome to purchase any works of art available for sale.
