Let’s take a look at Ray Monohan’s 2024 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings for the 2024 season.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (2-0)
The Chiefs had little trouble with the Ravens in an AFC title game rematch, then did what they do best and found a way to hang around and beat the Bengals in the late stages of that game. They came into the year as the team to beat and so far they have two pretty significant notches on their belt.
2. New Orleans Saints (2-0)
Klint Kubiak’s offense looks unstoppable through two weeks, with the Saints putting up 91 points on their opponents to start the season. Winning at Dallas is no joke – next they look to knock off another NFC East standout with Philadelphia coming to town.
3. Buffalo Bills (2-0)
This was supposed to be a down year for the Bills, but perhaps ridding Josh Allen of Stefon Diggs has freed the QB to cook the way it did Patrick Mahomes when Tyreek Hill was exiled to Miami. Sean McDermott’s seat certainly isn’t feeling warm the way many thought it would by now.

4. Houston Texans (2-0)
Even when the offense can’t get its footing, they can get creative in finding ways to win. DeMeco Ryans just keeps this ship pointed in the right direction and will likely earn some coach of the year consideration come January if this keeps up.
5. San Francisco 49ers (1-1)
Let’s not overreact here. The 49ers looked impressive enough on Monday that a stumble against the Vikings on a short week in the 1pm time slot can be forgiven if they can right the ship at the Rams this week. Getting Christian McCaffrey back on the field should be a focus, as should getting Brandon Aiyuk back in sync with Brock Purdy.
6. Detroit Lions (1-1)
Another one where we’ll need to pump the brakes a little bit, but let’s not write off such a talented group with Super Bowl aspirations. Tampa surely had that game circled as revenge for last year’s playoff defeat. The defense has taken a step forward and the offense should get their act together sooner rather than later. Time for the Lions to get out of the cycle of one-score games.
7. Los Angeles Chargers (2-0)
Beating up on the Panthers was to be expected, but Week 1’s victory over the Raiders is looking more impressive after Vegas beat Baltimore. The Jim Harbaugh experience is nothing if not consistent as he once again turns around a program from the jump in the way only he can. The Chargers compiled 395 rushing yards in their 2-0 start to the season.
8. Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)
General manager Howie Roseman should be scouring the market for a pass rusher and he’s the kind of guy who can make that happen. Even with an offense that’s poised to once again be a top five unit in the league, things fell apart against Atlanta and last year’s problems may be re-emerging.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)
Maybe there’s a bubble that’s going to burst here, but the Steelers know how to win on defense and special teams, so much isn’t going to be asked of their offense. After wins over the Falcons and Broncos, things get tougher starting this week against the Chargers.
10. New York Jets (1-1)
It was in doubt a little longer than expected, but the Jets did escape Tennessee with a victory. They now have a win with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback and hope that snowballs. The running game remains the focal point of their offense, with Rodgers moving the chains when called upon.
