Favorites to win the Wimbledon 2023 men’s championship
7/10/2023: Novak Djokovic is still an odds-on favorite, but Carlos Alcaraz closed the gap following a victory over Matteo Berrettini. While most of the big names have advanced to the quarterfinals, Stefanos Tsitsipas was stunned on Tuesday by huge longshot Christopher Eubanks.
Previous Wimbledon action
7/9/2023: Novak Djokovic had Hubert Hurkacz on the ropes in the Round of 16 before curfew was called, so don’t be surprised if his odds shorten up even further on Monday morning with a win. Carlos Alcaraz must deal with Matteo Berrettini if he wants to advance to a dream final with Djokovic. Jannik Sinner is at his shortest following a three-set triumph over Daniel Galan. 7/7/2023: Andy Murray took No. 5 Stefano Tsitsipas the distance before falling 6-4 in the deciding set, while Christopher Eubanks knocked out the hometown favorite Cameron Norrie in four sets as a +450 underdog. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are still the ones to beat and a dream final awaits in 10 days’ time. 7/6/2023: Many heavy hitters remain, but there have been some upsets. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are still the heavy favorites, but Casper Ruud, who just went to the French Open finals for a second straight year, was defeated by Liam Broady in five sets. Taylor Fritz, the No. 9 seed, won his first two sets vs. Mikael Ymer before dropping three straight on his way out of the tournament. Another ranked player, Sebastian Korda, lost in four sets to Jiri Vesely. 7/4/2023: Welp, Nick Kyrgios, who entered the tournament with 40/1 odds to win, withdrew just before he was set to face David Goffin in their opening-round match due to a torn ligament in his wrist. In terms of upsets, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime was downed in four sets by Michael Mmoh after being considered a heavy favorite to at least advance to the second round. Otherwise, the men’s side of the bracket was mostly chalk, with tournament Novak Djokovic dispatching Pedro Cachin in straight sets Carlos Alcaraz doing the same to Jeremy Chardy on Tuesday before the rain took over. 7/2/2023: Until someone can knock Novak Djokovic down a peg, he’s the prohibitive favorite. His odds to win his eighth Wimbledon title sit at -160 ahead of his first-round matchup against Pedro Cachin on July 3. Carlos Alcaraz will look to build on his U.S. Open victory from a year ago, but injuries have hampered him a bit in 2023. No other player has odds shorter than +2,000 entering tournament play.
6/27/2023: Novak Djokovic is still an odds-on favorite at -140 to capture his 24th career Grand Slam victory in the 2023 Wimbledon tournament. However, 2022 U.S. Open winner Carlos Alcaraz shortened from a +500 second choice to +350 over the weekend. It’s a sizable gap back to 2021 U.S. Open winner Daniil Medvedev, who holds third-choice status at +1,600. 6/23/2023: Novak Djokovic is entrenched as the odds-on choice at -150 after taking the 2023 French Open, his 23rd career Grand Slam victory. 2022 U.S. Open winner Carlos Alcaraz is still the clear-cut second choice at +500, followed by 2021 U.S. Open winner Daniil Medvedev, who rose another two points to +1,200. All other individual entrants are +1,500 or higher. 6/21/2023: Novak Djokovic has come down even further to -150 after taking the 2023 French Open, his 23rd career Grand Slam victory. 2022 U.S. Open winner Carlos Alcaraz is the clear-cut second choice at +500, followed by 2021 U.S. Open winner Daniil Medvedev at +1,000. All other individual entrants are +1,400 or higher. 6/11/2023: Novak Djokovic has shortened to -125 after taking the 2023 French Open, his 23rd career Grand Slam victory. 2022 U.S. Open winner Carlos Alcaraz is the clear-cut second choice at +330, followed by 2021 U.S. Open winner Daniil Medvedev at +650. All other individual entrants are +1,200 or higher. 2/15/2023:Novak Djokovic finds himself as the favorite for another Grand Slam title in 2023, but this time there’s no one close to his +110 with Garfia (+700) and Berrettini (+800) a ways behind. This comes as no surprise considering how easy Djoker won last year’s grass title.

Favorites to win the 2023 Wimbledon women’s championship
7/10/2023: Of the “Big 3” of Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, and Aryna Sabalenka, the latter has the toughest path through (in theory) as she’ll face Ons Jabeur next in the quarterfinals. Swiatek gets unranked Elina Svitolina next, and Rybakina takes on 25-seed Madison Keys.
Previous Wimbledon action
7/9/2023: World No. 1 Iga Swiatek shortened again following her win over Belinda Bencic, but she had to save two match points and dropped the opening set in that match. Elena Rybakina leapfrogged Aryna Sabalenka for second-choice status after a convincing win over Katie Boulter in straight sets. 7/7/2023: Another day, more mild surprises while the top of the bracket is still chalky. Gone is No. 20 Donna Vekic, who was ousted in straight sets by Marketa Vondrousova. Iga Swiatek continues to pace the top of the odds board as the first choice with world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka her most likely finals opponent if everything plays out in a straightforward fashion. 7/6/2023: Like the men’s, the top of the board remains largely unchanged. But, Karolina Muchova, Veronika Kudermetova, Jelena Ostapenko, and Barbora Krejcikova — all of whom were at 28/1 or shorter earlier in the week — were eliminated from the competition. Iga Swiatek has seen her odds shorten from +225 to +175 after consecutive dominant victories where she was never in danger of losing a single set. 7/4/2023: The biggest shock in the early games on the women’s side came when Sofia Kenin upset No. 7-ranked Coco Gauff in three sets on Monday. Gauff entered the tournament at 16/1 to win, just outside the inner circle of favorites. A disappointing finish after reaching the semifinals of both the Australian and French Opens earlier in the year. As a result, Kenin is now 25/1 to win the whole thing. Other than Gauff, Liudmila Samsonova (the 15th seed) was bounced in straight sets by unranked Ana Bogdan and 24-seed Qinwen Zheng lost to Katerina Siniakova. Venus Williams also won’t be gunning for a Cinderella run as she lost in straight sets to Elina Svitolina. Several matches were suspended due to rain on Day 2, so the second round has yet to be set, but the favorites all took care of business before the heavens opened. Iga Swiatek was dominant in a straight-sets victory over Zhu Lin on Monday and Aryna Sabalenka looked similarly strong vs. Panna Udvardy on Tuesday. After losing the opening set to Shelby Rogers 6-4, Elena Rybakina won the next two 6-1 and 6-2 en route to the second round. Ons Jabeur went from 17/1 to 13/1 after her first-round victory over Magdalena Frech. 7/2/2023: Iga Swiatek’s Wimbledon odds have continued to shorten after opening at +450 back in February. Fresh off her third French Open title, she’ll look to capture her first tournament crown at Wimbledon. Reigning champion Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka are considered Swiatek’s top competition and their odds to win aren’t all that far off with the first round set to begin on Monday, July 3.
6/27/2023: 2023 French Open champ Iga Swiatek is holding as a slim outright favorite at +380 to capture her first-ever Wimbledon after falling into a three-way tie last week. Elena Rybakina is back to second-choice status at +425, while Aryna Sabalenka has fallen to third choice in the wagering at +500. Two-time Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova is now the fourth choice at +1,3006/23/2023: 2023 French Open champ Iga Swiatek is once again the outright favorite at +380 to capture her first-ever Wimbledon after falling into a three-way tie during midweek. Elena Rybakina is back to second-choice status at +425, while Aryna Sabalenka has fallen to third choice in the wagering at +450. There remains a sizable break to Ons Jabeur in fourth, as she’s risen to +1,400. 6/21/2023: The 2023 French Open champ Iga Swiatek is listed at +400 to capture her first-ever Wimbledon. The women’s side of this event is much more compact at the top, with Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina both getting bet down to +400 co-favoritism. Then it’s a sizable break to Ons Jabeur next at +1,100. 6/11/2023: Fresh off her 2023 French Open triumph, Iga Swiatek has come down to +350 to capture her first-ever Wimbledon. The women’s side of this event is much more compact at the top, with Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina holding as co-second choices at +450. Then it’s a gap to Ons Jabeur next at +1,000. 2/15/2023: Iga Swiatek is favored at +450 to capture her first career Wimbledon title, but stiff competition is behind her with Aryna Sabalenka close behind at +650. Rounding out the Top 3 is reigning Wimbledon champ Elena Rybakina at +700.
